OVERSEAS MAIN PROJECT

TIA has carried out some activities abroad for providing consulting services and project preparation. Followings are the TIA’s overseas experiences on those areas:

  • Ulu Tiram New Town Development, Central Johor, Malaysia, funded by private of Advance Development Sdn. Bhd./Bulin Group, Malaysia, from 1995 to 1996. In this project, TIA associated with PCI of Malaysia implement the consulting service to prepare a comprehensive study for approximate by 3,000 ha of non-productive oil palm plantation in an undulating site of 20 km north of Central Johor with a target capacity reaches around 150,000 to 180,000 population in year 2030. The study includes evaluation of resources and major economic activities to be promoted in this new, self-contain township development.


  • Penang Outer Ring Road (Coastal Highway) Development Project, Penang, Malaysia, financed by private of Eastern & Oriental Berhad, Malaysia, from 1995 to 1996. In this project, TIA associated with PCI of Malaysia implement the consulting service to reclaim the coastal area of Georgetown, the capital of Penang, Malaysia to expand residential, art and educational, commercial and recreational development opportunities, including the new proposal for conserving and revitalizing the historical section of Georgetown. The development will absorb approximately 50,000 to 60,000 populations within the-20 year implementation plan. The project covered an area of about 350 ha.

  • Overseas Training on the Framework of Understanding on the Management of Coastal Area in the Philippines funded by ADB (Loan No. 1570/1571 (SF)-INO), in 1999. In this project, TIA associated with Primex Inc. of Philippines. The objectives of the training are to give the participants a good understanding of the needs and benefits of fisheries management and of the major technical and institutional issues in management planning and implementation.


  • Financial Overseas Training for Staff from Central and District of Coastal Community Development and Fisheries Resource Management Project in Manila, Philippines funded by ADB (Loan No. 1570/1571 (SF)-INO), in 2000. In this project, TIA associated with Primex Inc. of Philippines. The Financial Training Course is envisaged to provide the staff of the PCO, PIU, and DGF the necessary skills for effective management of funds in accordance with the project implementation requirements as specified by predetermined activities and schedules.
